At Presidio, we’re at the forefront of bridging the gap between Industry 4.0, innovation, sustainability, and construction.

We’re leaders in using and investing in companies that utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and robotics to help revolutionize the way we think about buildings and sustainability.

We do this by consulting for and partnering with highly promising companies that are changing their industries in the EMEA region. Specifically, we focus on these areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine Learning
  • Robotics

Thanks to our core pillars blockchain, IoT, and renewable energy, we cross-pollinate across several sectors, industries, and technologies.

Artificial intelligence

Our capabilities as humans to make decisions and solve problems are limited. However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used to leverage computers and machines to help us make better decisions that take all the variables into account. Already today, there are several AI models that are used to improve various sustainability aspects.

The Presidio team has decades of combined expertise in working with and implementing AI hardware and software. AI is a general-purpose technology that helps to improve areas such as Data Analytics, IoT, and Information Modeling. We’re early adopters of these technologies and leverage our human expertise with AI.

For instance, AI is used to track deforestation and use carbon credit allocation to spur conservation efforts. Other projects focus on data-driven AI tools to collect data for resource savings or to steer policymaking. One such project uses air sensors to measure and forecast future air quality in polluted cities.

Machine Learning

Machine Learning is used to automatically improve processes with algorithms that learn through experience and by using data. Machine Learning is part of Artificial Intelligence and it can be used in sustainability projects to improve safety, productivity, quality, and other key measures.

For instance, Machine Learning can help to improve the design before a building is constructed. This way, stakeholders can figure out mistakes and omissions before construction starts. The same goes for Predictive Analysis.

At Presidio, we see the potential in Machine Learning and apply years of experience to a wide-ranging list of Machine Learning projects. Different ways to utilize machine learning include using the technology to track carbon emissions and to help organizations meet their decarbonization goals. Machine learning can also be used for forecasting; for instance to measure resource needs so that resources can be more effectively used while reducing waste.

Robotics

Robotics is used to substitute human labor with robots. Traditionally, many industries require a certain level of expertise. When there isn’t enough skilled labor, the whole industry suffers. Robots can help complete many of these projects, including expert-level tasks, faster. That’s why robotics are used to address labor shortages, save costs, improve worker safety, create more flexible industries, and improve efficiency.

For example, one of the ways we use robotics is to build houses using large-scale building-size 3D printers. 3D printers work as robots here; completing the construction much faster than traditional construction processes. Construction can be up to 70% less resource-intensive thanks to machines like 3D printers. Site-inspections are another use case. Here, drones and machines are used to improve safety and increase investment ROI.
